A Career in Learning Analytics: An Overview of Opportunities and Directions

A cluster of related fields – educational data mining, AI in education, learning analytics, and learning sciences – are increasingly represented in university programs. These learning experiences – open online courses, certificates, and more recently, masters programs – prepare learners for a world where digitization, data, and analytics shape research and teaching and learning in schools and universities. For those considering entering this field, questions readily arise regarding opportunities around employment: what does a learning analyst do all day? Who is hiring learning analytics graduates? What does a career path in learning analytics look like? This webinar will bring together graduates of LA programs and academics who have developed and are running masters courses and programs in learning analytics.

The panelists include:

  • Sunmin Lee, M.S. – Senior Consultant at Deloitte
  • Eddie Lin, Ph.D. – Data Scientist, Learning Analytics at Meta
  • Liz Owen, Ph.D. – Founder / Chief Data Scientist at Learning Data Discovery
